Nikolic to get new role, and decoration from Putin

President Tomislav Nikolic will become the head of the National Council for Cooperation with Russia and China once his term in office expires on May 31. The daily Vecernje Novosti reported this on Monday, adding that the Serbian government should make an official decision on this in the next two weeks. The outgoing president could travel to Moscow in mid-June, the article continued, where he should meet with President Vladimir Putin, and also receive a decoration from the Russian leader. Another Belgrade newspaper, Blic, writes on Monday that Nikolic's culture adviser Radoslav Pavlovic is a candidate for the director of Serbia's Cultural Center in Paris, while the presidential adviser on foreign policy and former foreign minister Ivan Mrkic should become Serbia's new ambassador to France. @b92
